Below some links from where you can get some further information.
Lonely planet: A great site with essential info regarding every possible place on Earth. Of particular interest to you is the Thorntree Travel Forum, where an army of people is ready to answer whatever question you might have regarding Uganda. Registration is free and takes only a minute. If course, do check out the FAQ on the Thorntree before posting. Tripadvisor: Equivalent to Lonely Planet, but more commercial and more catering for "mass tourism" (slightly less essential information such as the evening dress code in this-or-that mass Kenyan resort are being answered here). Again, registration is free and takes a minute. Of particular interest to you, however, is the list of restaurants and hotels, which are ranked. Do take care when checking out the rankings, as they are often biased based on a couple of reviews (e.g. we would personally not recommend "Sam's Restaurant" as a top pick ;). Do have a look at our toppicks.
The eye: The Yellow pages of Uganda, geared towards expats. Unfortunately, their site is often down. Red Pepper: The most popular newspaper in Uganda. Have a quick look, and you will see that press freedom is not something to complain about in Uganda. Have your fix of sleazy, gossipy and raunchy stories of Uganda's top politicians and music stars. Anyway, a great site to get a "feel" of urban Uganda.
